ADD To Done Mastery Program

Next Class Starts: Fall 2012

Beyond Stuck Procrastination and Overwhelm is an interactive, hands-on program dedicated to supporting adults with ADHD who want to address the challenges of their ADHD so they can be more effective and efficient in reaching their goals.

Does This Description Fit You

You are clear on what you want and you are motivated to get there.

It just does not seem to be happening for you. You are not sure how to clear the brush of your ADHD symptoms aside, so you can create an easier path to your goal.

You may want to make more money in your business, perform better at work, have an easier flow to your home life, etc.

But you feel like you are spinning your wheels. Like the movie, Groundhog Day, you seem to keep reliving the same moments, again and again.

If are ready to learn new strategies and skills to move forward, this class is for you.

You Want Long Term Results

This program is not about quick fixes.

We will use my book, ADD to Done: Beyond Stuck, Procrastination and Overwhelm, as a resource during the course. In addition, I will supplement the book with additional content and exercises, as needed.

When you complete this course, you will be able to be more effective and efficient in reaching your goals.

To accomplish this, during the course, my intention is that you will:

  1. Identify your core values
  2. Create an awareness of yourself, including your strengths and impact if your ADD symptoms
  3. Learn more about your ADD and how you can work with it, rather than against it, to reach your goals
  4. Design your goal so that you can reach it
  5. Learn how different types of self care can support you. Make changes to your current self care to support your goals
  6. Adopt strategies to reach your goals that rely on your strengths and help minimize your ADD related challenges
  7. Learn and adopt specific time and task management strategies to support you
  8. Commit to reaching your goal in a way that works for you!

How Will We Do This?

Before the class you and I will talk (see form below) to make sure the program is right for you. During this conversation we will discuss the goal that you would like to focus on during the course.

During Each Class.

  • Each session will begin with a 10 minute time for members to share  a "win" or thought from the previous week.
  • I will present a 10-15 minute educational component related to the topic.
  • We will then have a 20-30 minute period to discuss the topic, ask and answer questions and brainstorming ideas related to topic.
  • I will provide a 15-20 minute  laser coaching session related to the topic for a volunteer member.
  • To provide support in the form of accountability, at the end of each session each member will share what they are committed to doing by the next session.

Between classes you will also have opportunities to continue the learning and discussion, as there is no expectation that we can wrap up everything during the call.

  • You will have an assignment to complete that is tailored to help you move forward on your goal. It is not extra work, really!
  • One  client initiated laser call is permitted between sessions; I will respond within 24 hours.
  • Your group will have it own private listserv for communication during the week.

After the course is over you and I will have a coaching session to discuss your progress and discuss what next steps would be most helpful for you.

Here Is What You Will Be learning In Each Class

Session  1  - Building the Foundation for your Goals

In this session we will explore your goals to make sure that they are in alignment with what is important to you, your values. This is the key that provides the motivation for moving forward, in spite of your challenges, including your ADHD symptoms.

I will also introduce the concept of SMART Goals,  and help you to be begin creating effective and efficient goals with your ADHD in mind.

Session  2  Building Awareness

Sometimes it is difficult to see what is getting in your way and what could help you. In this session we will look at where you are now in relationship to your goal(s).

You will gain a better understanding of your strengths and how they can support you. You will gain insight into the impact of your ADHD symptoms, co-morbid conditions and inner critic. We will discuss how you can use your strengths more effectively and address your challenges in order to minimize their impact.

Session  3  - SMART Goals: The Path to Your Dreams

As is common for many with ADHD, your goals may be a little fuzzy.  You may want to make more money, pay down your debt, get a job, etc. But you don't have a specific vision of how you are going to get there

In this hands on session, you will use the information from the previous two sessions to learn how to create a goal statement that takes into consideration your values, your strengths and your challenges. Using this goal statement, you will have a concrete plan to reach your goals.

Session  4  - Self Care

When you don't take care of yourself (not eating well, sleeping enough or having too much stress, too little social time, etc) your ADHD symptoms can become worse.

In this session, we will discuss the impact of various aspects of self care on your ability to manage your ADHD and reach your goals You will also assess your own level of self care and explore its impact in your own life

We will discuss specific ADHD related tools and strategies to help you make the changes your desire.

Session  5  Creating  the Right Environment

It is common for many with ADHD to take on too much; it is hard to see how it could be any other way.

It can.

In this session we will look at what changes you can make in your environment to support you in reaching your goal. The topics we will discuss are: physical environment,  willingness to experiment, being selective in your commitments, and making decisions concerning obligations.

You will assess how your current environment is supporting you and explore changes you may want to make to make it more possible to reach your goals.

Session  6  Strategies to Manage Your Time and Tasks

Managing time and task is one of the biggest challenges when you have ADHD. In this session we will explore ADHD friendly strategies for managing your task and time.

You will look at your specific challenges and explore changes that you want to make to help you be more effective in this area.

Session  7  Staying on Track

How do you follow through and stay committed to your goals when it is challenging? It is hard for many with ADD to continue when faced with potential roadblocks.

In this session we will discuss strategies for staying the course and how to change course when that makes more sense.

Session  8  Review and Wrap -up

While there is structure to the course, I will design each session and make necessary changes  to meet the needs of all of the participants.

In the final class we will review and expand on a few topics of interest to the participants.
