Do you ever have the sense of wanting to go it alone? Whether you are self-employed or working for others, you may resist asking for help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Going It Alone<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps, you have an entrepreneurial spirit and love the adrenalin rush of doing your own thing. You can put your creative ideas into action quickly. It can be  truly exciting being the captain of your own ship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You  may want to see your idea executed exactly the way you envisioned it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe you don’t trust the advice of the people who you are currently consulting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don’t think you can afford to hire someone to help you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don’t think it is worth the investment of time. After all you have a lot to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The truth is all of the above has been true for me at one time or another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Are The Disadvantages?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Depending on your situation, there can be many disadvantages. Though I am sure that you can think of many more, below are a few that come to mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may feel like you are all over the place, jumping from one task to the next, but not successfully executing them in a timely manner. What would it feel like to know what to do<\/em>, how to do i<\/em>t, and when do it <\/em>at any given moment?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you don’t get the help you need, you may be in the same position 6 months or a year from now. What would this feel like?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have only your perspective to draw on, and sometimes that is just too limited. As Einstein noted: “The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.” How might it help to collaborate with someone in reaching your goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is holding me back from reaching my goals? Lack of time, knowledge, structure, interest, or confidence are just a few of the common challenges for people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the one area, if I had support, that would have the greatest impact right now in helping me reach my goals? It can be over overwhelming to try and tackle too many areas at once<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What kind of professional could help me first? This is where you may, understandably get confused. For example, many small business owners have difficulties in marketing their business. The first step<\/span> is identify where the “breakdown” is, and then<\/span> you can identify who can best support you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How To Find  The Right Support<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To continue the above example… If you have ADD, your main<\/span> stumbling in  marketing may be lack of time management, organization, follow through and completion. If this is the case, you need to get support in strengthening your skills and systems in these areas, first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then you may decide to get support in a specific area, like branding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, you need help from someone who understands your specific needs, including the challenges you face with ADD. and can help you learn new strategies and skills and create the structures you need to succeed in your personal and business or professional life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
