Do You Want To Be More Intentional Today?

Thinking and writing about values is one of my favorite topics for several reasons:
- It reminds me of how essential it is for me to remind myself of what is important to me, my values.
- It also helps to inform my work with my clients. It reminds me that my work with my clients is about helping them live their lives based on their values. That is, the purpose of helping them accomplish their goals and the tasks that support these goals is to help them “live their values.” It is not about just crossing “to do” items off a list.
- It also serves as a cue that I want to be mindful of this each and every day.
When I woke this yesterday morning, I was faced with the challenged of wanting to work and spend time with my daughter, who was off of school. It took a while to make peace with deciding what to do.
I wanted to honor all of my commitments to my clients and did that before my daughter woke up.
When she woke up, we made pancakes and then had breakfast together.
As, I want to continue to offer consistent and useful information though my blog, I committed to writing two entries by the end of each week. Here is the second for this week.
I also want to be present for my clients when we have a session. So, when I finished writing this blog, I took a break, read the paper and listened to my daughter practice her guitar. Then I was able to focus for my next client.
Knowing that my daughter had off yesterday, I only scheduled one client. After that call, we spent time with my sister and family. No specific plan… We just hung out, which is one of my favorite activities.
Just being…every day
